However, despite some benefits, it was not until I started with Andrea that my body really ‘got’ Pilates. Andrea’s expertise and attention to detail are exceptional. She can spot the tensing of an errant muscle through the back of her head and thus is able to tailor every movement to each individual client. Andrea ensures that she is up to date with new training and techniques and is quick to put into practice those that are beneficial to her clients. I have been doing Pilates for approximately 10 years, mainly to help with my back pain and flexibility. Four years ago, I joined Andrea’s classes at The Pilates Studio Whitstable and immediately found the method that she uses to be very different from anything that I had done before. The exercises ‘reach the parts others didn’t’. Andrea’s classes that I attend are challenging, very stimulating, and fun, and small enough for Andrea to take into account each individual’s needs. I now have more flexibility, structure, and strength, and a much deeper awareness of my body. As a result, I am progressively fitter, more active, and virtually pain-free.

I regularly attend the Improvers class and the Ball class and have also attended some Equipment classes which are amazing.

I’m an older participant in one of Andrea’s Pilates classes and hadn’t been to any type of exercise class for about 15 years, so I was apprehensive about starting. However, Andrea dispelled my anxiety immediately. She is so clear when explaining and showing us the different movements and doesn’t make me feel stupid if I haven’t got the positions quite right. Andrea is a knowledgeable, approachable Pilates instructor. I attend one of her beginner Pilates classes, and she adds a personal touch to her classes. She remembers everyone’s name, and although it is a group class, she remembers each individual’s needs. Her instructions are clear, and each class continues with a theme, but the exercises are varied, which holds the class's interest.

I started Pilates with Andrea nearly two years ago following two episodes of surgery on my foot. I had an issue with my balance and my physiotherapist suggested Pilates, which I had never tried before. My balance has improved, and I can achieve much more with my body since I first started, and that's all down to Andrea. She’s very aware of everyone’s different needs within the group. She doesn’t push you, but she does encourage you. Andrea demonstrates the movements and then watches everyone individually. She’s very knowledgeable about the body’s structure and a great teacher. Most importantly, she makes the classes enjoyable.
